This recipe comes to us from Hélène Péloquin, creator of the blog La Cuisine d'Hélène. Hélène serves up a delicious ground beef dish that is ready in 30 minutes. A great go-to for meal planning during the busy week.

Ingredients

1 lb (500 g) Lean Ground Beef 1 tsp (5 mL) EACH dried basil, oregano and rosemary leaves 1 tsp (5 mL) EACH dried onion flakes and garlic salt ½ tsp (2 mL) salt 1 can (796 mL) diced tomatoes with herbs & spices 1 sweet green pepper, sliced 2½ cups (625 mL) dry coquillettes (medium shells) pasta 1½ cups (375 mL) shredded Tex-Mex blend cheese ½ cup (125 mL) fresh parsley, chopped 4 green onions, sliced

1. Cook ground beef over medium-high heat in a large nonstick skillet, stirring and using back of spoon to break up meat into small chunks, for 8 to 10 minutes or until the beef is browned and thoroughly cooked. Drain, if necessary. Add basil, oregano, rosemary, onion flakes, garlic salt and salt; cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. 2. Stir in diced tomatoes and green pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and boil gently for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. 3. Meanwhile, cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package directions. Drain. 4. Add pasta and cheese to beef mixture, stirring well. Serve immediately garnished with parsley and green onions.
