  • 1 tsp (5 mL) EACH fresh ground pepper, ground cumin and ground coriander
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) sugar
  • ½ tsp (2 mL) EACH curry powder, celery salt and garlic salt
  • 1½ lb (750 g) Beef Strip Loin Grilling Steaks, ¾ inch (2 cm) thick (about 4 small)
  • 4 bamboo skewers, soaked
  • 12 large fresh prawns/shrimp, shells removed and tails on

Follow these cooking methods/directions:

  1. Combine pepper, cumin, coriander, sugar, curry powder, celery salt and garlic salt in small bowl. Rub steaks all over with seasoning mixture; place on a plate, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  2. Grill steaks over medium-high heat in a closed barbecue for 6 to 8 minutes, turning twice or more, for medium-rare 145°F (63°C) at the least. Let rest for 5 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, thread 3 prawns onto each skewer and grill over medium-high for 2 minutes per side, turning only once, or until shrimp are firm and opaque. Serve with steaks.
