Method

Follow these cooking methods/directions:

  1. Toast sesame seeds in a small nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes or until lightly browned; transfer to a shallow dish and set aside.

  2. Combine mayonnaise with green onion in small bowl; spread about 1 tbsp (15 mL) onto cut surfaces of each bun; set aside.

  3. Grill patties on a lightly oiled grill over medium-high heat in a closed barbecue for 10 to 14 minutes for ¾-inch (2 cm) thick patties, turning twice or more or until digital instant-read thermometer inserted sideways into centre of each patty reads 160°F (71°C).

  4. Meanwhile, grill pineapple slices, turning frequently, and cut surfaces of buns for 1 to 2 minutes, until pineapple is grill-marked and buns are just lightly toasted.

  5. Brush each cooked patty all over with teriyaki sauce and flip each once or twice in the toasted sesame seeds to lightly coat. Top each bun with a patty, grilled pineapple slice and some bean sprouts. Top each with more siracha mayonnaise mixture, if desired.
