Here are the following ingredients:
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) EACH olive oil and butter
- 1 lb (500 g) sliced cremini and/or button mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp (2 mL) steak spice
- Salt and fresh ground pepper
Follow these cooking methods/directions:
1. Heat oil and butter over medium heat in a large skillet. Cook
mushrooms, garlic and steak spice and a pinch each of salt and pepper, stirring
often, for 10 minutes or until liquid is released and evaporates, and mushrooms
are softened and golden brown. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Switch up the seasoning to suit your tastes and the rest of the meal. Instead of steak spice, try Cajun spice or substitute 1 tsp (5 mL) chopped fresh thyme or sage or 1 tbsp (15 mL) chopped fresh parsley or basil. You can add a splash or cream to finish if you like.
