Bruschetta Beef Burger with Pesto Mayo

A colourful burger that makes a big impact on the menu while being quick and simple to prepare. Using bruschetta and pesto elevates the flavour profile of the burger and the garlic Texas toast brings a rich garlicky punch to every bite. Serve it with Caesar salad or fries as a plated entrée, or pack it up for to-go customers.

Ingredients

Here are the following ingredients:

  • 16 Ground Beef Patties, about 5 oz (150 g) each
  • 16 slices mozzarella or provolone cheese, about 1 lb (500 g)
  • 1 cup (250 mL) pesto mayonnaise
  • 32 slices garlic Texas toast, lightly toasted
  • 16 leafy green lettuce leaves
  • 4 cups (1 L) prepared bruschetta
  • ⅓ cup (75 mL) balsamic glaze

Preparation

  1. Grill or sear burger on flat top, turning as needed, until a digital instant-read thermometer inserted sideways into centre of patty reads at least 160°F (71°C). Top with 1 slice mozzarella; cook until melted.
  2. Spread 1 tbsp (15 mL) pesto mayonnaise on 1 slice of Texas toast. Arrange lettuce leaf on top of pesto mayonnaise.
  3. Top with cooked burger and ¼ cup (60 mL) bruschetta. Drizzle with 1 tsp (5 mL) balsamic glaze. Cap with second piece of Texas toast.

Service
